WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's golf incoming freshman Jennifer Kupcho advanced to the round of 16 at the U.S. Women's Amateur last week in Portland, Ore.
Kupcho made it to the round of 16 before falling to Hannah O'Sullivan, who earlier this year became the youngest winner in the history of the Symetra Tour, prevailing at age 16 in February. Kupcho lost the matchup 4-3.
In the morning, Kupcho won her round of 32 match in 19 holes over Haley Moore of Escondido, Calif. Kupcho birdied the extra hole to advance.
In the final weeks before coming to Winston-Salem, Kupcho has been on an impressive streak. She won the CWGA Stroke Play by 21 shots, finished third at the Big I National Championship last week, and then made it to the Sweet 16 at the U.S. Women's Amateur.
