Wake Forest Tournament History
• This is Wake Forest's fifth appearance in the event.
• The Deacons finished sixth as a team last year. Wake Forest also finished seventh in 2013, 17th in 2012 and 15th in 2011.
• Last year Sierra Sims finished second as an individual, the best ever finish by a Demon Deacon in the event. She posted a 54-hole score of 10-under 206. That score ties Michelle Shin for the 54-hole school record which she set at the 2010 Mason Rudolph Challenge. For the week, Sims made 15 birdies and was second in the field in par-4 scoring at 5-under par.
Wake Forest Notes
• Head coach Dianne Dailey is entering her 27th season at the helm of the Demon Deacon program.
• Sierra Sims returns for her junior season after she was named an All-American last year by Golfweek and the WGCA. Last season she led the team with a 73.09 stroke average, breaking the Wake Forest single-season record of 73.46 set by Cheyenne Woods in 2011 .
• Freshman Jennifer Kupcho advanced to the round of 16 at the U.S. Women's Amateur.
• In 2015 the Demon Deacons finished 13th at the NCAA Tournament and finished the year ranked No. 10 by Golfstat.com.
