Demon Deacon Men Post Third-Place Finish at Furman Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wake Forest men's cross country team finished third Saturday morning at the Furman Classic. Simon Holden and Evan Little had top-20 finishes to lead the Demon Deacons at the 8K race at the Furman University Golf Club.
Wake Forest was third at the meet with 109 points, finishing behind host Furman and Auburn in the 12-team race.
For the second consecutive meet, Holden was the Deacons' top finisher, crossing the line in 25:09.80 to place 15th. Evan Little was 20th in a time of 25:18.08, while Alex Giacco was 22nd in a time of 25:23.56.
Craig Corti was 26th and Ryan Horgan, making his season debut, was 37th to round out the scoring five for Wake Forest.
The Demon Deacons will travel to South Carolina again next week to compete at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational on Sept. 19.
