Women Ninth, Men 11th in Preseason ACC Cross Country Poll

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Wednesday the 2015 ACC Cross Country Preseason Poll, as voted upon by the league's head coaches. The Wake Forest women were projected ninth, while the Demon Deacon men were selected 11th.
The Demon Deacon women return their top four finishers from the 2014 meet, when they finished ninth. That group is headlined by senior Samantha Jones, who earned All-ACC honors with a 21st-place finish at last year's championship.
The Wake Forest men are coming off an 11th-place finish at last year's ACC Championship. The Demon Deacons return their top finisher from last year's championship in senior Kent Garrett, who was 52nd last year.
The 2015 ACC Championship will be held Oct. 30 in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Demon Deacons open the 2015 season on Friday as they compete in the Elon Invitational.
