
Demon Deacons Complete 2016 Fall Slate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Wake Forest women's tennis closed the 2016 fall slate with four singles victories over Tennessee in the final day of the Tennessee Fall Invite on Sunday.
Emma Davis, ranked No. 76 in the nation, picked up a big 6-1, 6-3 victory over 35th-ranked Sadie Hammond. Joanna Zalewski capped her fall slate with a 6-1, 6-2 win over the Vols' Brittany Lindl while Samantha Asch topped Kim Kermet 6-2, 6-3. Luisa Fernandez picked up the fourth Wake Forest win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Gabby Schuck.
In doubles action against Arizona State, Davis and Chandler Carter took down Alexandra Osborne and Nicole Fossa Huergo 6-4 for Wake Forest's only doubles win of the day.
With the fall slate in the books, Wake Forest will return to competitive action with the start of the spring slate on Jan. 16, 2017, against College of Charleston and Winthrop at Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
