
Three Deacs Named First Team All-Americans

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest senior captains Alec Ferrell, Ian Harkes and Jacori Hayes were each named first team All-Americans by the NSCAA, giving the Demon Deacons a program-record three first team selections.
Each Deacon is named an All-American for the first time in their careers. Ian Harkes was named a College Soccer News Freshman All-American after the 2013 season. Wake Forest is the only program with three first team honorees.
Ferrell, who has missed time due to knee injuries, has posted shutouts in more than half of his 15 outings. He has earned an 11-1-3 record with a 0.51 goals-against average to go along with an .869 save percentage.In his career, he has 22 shutouts in 62 starts, for a 39-13-10 record and 0.89 GAA.
Harkes has served as the anchor of the midfield, also recording 12 points on four goals and four assists. Three of his goals have gone for game-winners, and the three-time All-ACC honoree has eight goals and 18 assists in 80 career starts.
Hayes leads the team in goals (8) and points (19), starting all 23 games in the midfield. In his career, he has totaled 45 points on 15 goals and 15 assists, with 10 of his 13 scores the last two years going down as game-winners. The Senior CLASS Award winner has started 72 games in his career.
Jack Harrison was Wake Forest's lone first team selection a year ago. Wake Forest previously had a pair of first team representatives in 2009, 2008 and 2004.
The Wake Forest trio leads the Deacs into the NCAA College Cup tonight for the first time since 2009, as Wake Forest kicks off against Denver at 6 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
