WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --
The Wake Forest men's basketball team suffered a 91-71 defeat at the hands of Florida State on Saturday afternoon at the LJVM Coliseum. The Demon Deacons erased a 10-point deficit in the second half, but the Seminoles pulled away in the final 13 minutes to secure the win.

The Deacons dropped to 10-13 on the year, including 1-10 in the ACC, while Florida State upped its record to 16-7 and 6-5 in the conference.

Cornelius Hudson matched a season best, leading four Deacs in double figures with 17 points, while Devin Thomas tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that featured 15 lead changes, the most in a half of a Wake Forest game all season. The Deacons matched their largest lead of the game by going up, 33-29, with just under two minutes remaining, but the Seminoles went on an 8-0 run to go into the break with a 37-33 advantage.

Konstantinos Mitoglou paced the Deacs by scoring all eight of his points in the first 20 minutes, while Hudson and Codi Miller-McIntyre had seven apiece. Miller-McIntyre also dished out four assists of his seven assists in the frame.

Out of the intermission, Florida State maintained its momentum and extended its run to 14-0 to stretch its cushion to 10 points, but back-to-back buckets off the fast break by Bryant Crawford and a driving layup by Miller-McIntyre cut the gap to four heading into the first media timeout. A Devin Thomas layup capped a 15-5 Wake Forest run that knotted the score at 48.

From there, however, the Seminoles went on a 15-5 of their own and never led by fewer than eight points to close out the game.

Malik Beasley led the visitors with 16 points, including three of his team's 10 3-pointers on the day. Four other Seminoles reached double digits in points.

The Demon Deacons will set out on a three-game road trip starting with a Wednesday contest at Georgia Tech. The Deacs will then head to NC State and Pittsburgh before returning home to take on Boston College on Feb. 21.

SECOND-HALF STRUGGLES
• Wake Forest allowed Florida State to shoot 54 percent from the floor in the second half on Saturday. FSU became the eighth Deacon opponent to shoot 50 percent or better in the second half of a game.
• The Deacons allowed Florida State 54 points in the second half, marking the fifth time this season they conceded 50 or more points in the final 20 minutes of a game.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE DEVIN

• Thomas now has 32 career double-doubles, which leads all active ACC players.
• Thomas' 32 double-doubles also places him sixth in Wake Forest history. He needs two more to tie Gil McGregor for fifth.

• This is the second time Hudson has been in double figures in ACC play this season. He had 12 points against Duke on Jan. 6.
