Deacons Finish Fourth at LSU Tiger Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Wake Forest women's golf team again climbed up the leaderboard to finish in fourth place at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic at The University Club. The Demon Deacons shot 15-over on Tuesday to secure their highest finish of the season.
In a tournament that includes nine of the top 50 teams in the nation, Wake Forest moved up from 10th place after the first round and sixth place after the second round. The Demon Deacons concluded the tournament at 48-over, finishing behind only No. 3 Duke, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 45 Tulane.
"The team played well this week on a tough course," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "The students made a lot of good decisions and executed well. It was a solid finish, but we know we can still improve. We know we are a competitive team and are looking forward to the Bryan National Collegiate in another week."
Sierra Sims was the top individual finisher for Wake Forest, shooting a 1-over round of 73 on Tuesday to complete a top-10 finish, tying for ninth at 11-over for the tournament. Erica Herr also shot 73 during the final round and finished T-23rd at 14-over.
Jennifer Kupcho finished T-20th at the event at 13-over after a final round 78. Antonia Eberhard was 7-over during the final round to finish T-34th at 17-over. Ines Laklalech finished T-47th at 20-over.
The Demon Deacons return to action April 1-3 with the Bryan National Collegiate, held at Bryan Park in Greensboro.
