DEACONS TRAVEL TO DC FOR ACC TOURNAMENT
• Wake Forest opens the ACC Tournament with a first round matchup against NC State
• The Demon Deacons are looking for their first win in the nation's capital since a 78-77 victory at George Washington on December 6, 1975
• Wake Forest's only previous game in the Verizon Center was an ACC quarterfinal loss to NC State in the 2005 tournament
AGAINST THE WOLFPACK
• NC State leads the all-time series 140-103 (NCSU leads 8-4 in ACCT)
• The last nine regular season meetings have been won by the home team
• Wake Forest defeated NC State 77-74 on Jan. 10 in Winston-Salem and the Wolfpack won the rematch, 99-88, on Feb. 13 in Raleigh
• Devin Thomas had a pair of 20-and-10 games against NC State this season (20p/11r in Winston-Salem; 15p/21r in Raleigh)
• The last meeting in the ACC Tournament came in 2006, an 82-71 Demon Deacon victory in the quarterfinals in Greensboro
ACC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• Wake Forest has a 43-58 all-time record in the ACC Tournament
• The Demon Deacons won the tournament in 1961, 1962, 1995 and 1996
• Wake Forest is 1-1 in opening round games, defeating Notre Dame in 2014 and falling to Virginia Tech in 2015
• The Deacs are 2-4 in Washington area ACC Tournament games (0-1 at Verizon Center and 2-3 in Landover, Md.)
CHALLENGING SCHEDULE
• Wake Forest's strength of schedule is ranked No. 1 nationally in the ESPN BPI, No. 2 in the Sagarin Ratings and No. 4 by KenPom
• Wake played a school-record 11 regular season games against ranked opponents, most in the ACC and one shy of the national high of 12
• To end January, Wake Forest played four-straight ranked foes for just the second time in school history (end of 1972-73 season)
