HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team concluded play Sunday at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the Long Cove Club. The Demon Deacons shot a final round 303 to finish in 14th place at 51-over at the event, which featured 12 of the top 50 teams in the nation, including the top four in the latest Golfstat rankings.
Antonia Eberhard had the low round of the day for the Deacs, firing a 2-over 73. She ended the tournament T-55th at 15-over, along with teammates Sierra Sims and Ines Laklalech.
The low Deacs for the tournament were Jennifer Kupcho and Erica Herr, who was competing as an individual. Both finished the tournament at 12-over, tied for 39th place.
"We had an opportunity to climb up the leaderboard today, but we had too many big number," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "There was improvement this week in many areas, however we need to continue to work hard over break, especially on the short game."
The Demon Deacons return to action March 20-22 at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
