
Demon Deacons in Top Five After Round One in Minnesota

LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Through 18 holes of play at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Wake Forest women's golf is in fourth place and just two strokes behind third with two Deacs in the top 10.
The Demon Deacons wrapped the first nine holes at seven over, but with bogey-free back nines and two scores under par, found their way into the top five.
After one round of competition, the Deacons are one of three teams to have two athletes under par and lead the field in Par 4s. Additionally, the Deacs totaled 15 birdies in round one, second behind the tournament leader.
Almere, Netherlands native Anne-Sterre den Dunnen kicked off her first tournament as a senior sitting T3, highlighted by a clean back nine. The 2025 All-ACC Academic team selection went two under with three straight birdies. Den Dunnen is first among the competition on Par 4s, and is tied at the top of the individual leaderboards with six total birdies.
Freshman Chloe Kovelesky follows den Dunnen close behind in T6 and one under. Kovelesky was the lone Deac with an under-par front nine and carded four birdies on the day.
Despite a difficult start to the day, graduate student Morgan Ketchum propelled forward after the turn and completed the second half of her round bogey-free. She entered the turn five over, but an under-par back nine moved her into the top-25.
In her first outing as a Demon Deacon, graduate student Casey Weidenfeld is T43 and six over, while junior Macy Pate sits T51 and seven over through one round of tournament play.
Round Two Due Up
The second round of three will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with Oregon and Pepperdine. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard and live streaming via babygrandegolf.com.
