No. 7 Wake Forest to Open Season at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

Wake Forest took home both team and co-medalist individual titles in 2025.
LAKE ELMO, Minn. - The top-ranked Wake Forest's women's golf team will begin the 2026-27 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn. from Sept. 7-9.
The Demon Deacons have already received multiple preseason accolades, earning top-10 rankings across the board – No. 7 by Golf Channel, and No. 6 by Golfweek magazine. Individually, junior Chloe Kovlesky earned a spot on the Golf Channel's Preseason All-American Second Team, with senior Macy Pate named to the Third Team. Additionally, freshman Benedicte Brent-Petersen was named to the All-Freshman Second Team.
This marks Wake Forest's seventh appearance at the event, with championships in 2019, 2022 and 2025.
Last Time Out
After starting the event at six-over-par, the Wake Forest battled back to turn in two consecutive rounds of seven-under to finish the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in first place at eight-under.
Sophomore Chloe Kovelesky led the Deacs to victory, carding a career-low 54-hole score. The Boca-Raton, Fla.-native penciled in three under-par rounds of 71, 67 and 69 to become the first individual champ at the ANNIKA since Rachel Keuhn in 2019.

- Rolling hills, mature trees and abundant wildlife provide the scenic backdrop to the challenging, yet approachable 18-hole course. The front nine, or the Queen's Nine, was designed by Annika Sorenstam, her first U.S. project. While the back nine, known as the King's Nine, was Arnold Palmer's last. Together, these golf legends envisioned a multi-generational golfing experience; a place where beginners would feel comfortable in learning, and where experienced players could test their skills.
