GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's tennis team will be the second seed at the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Championship, which begins on Wednesday, April 20 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The Demon Deacons' first match at the event will be in the quarterfinal round on Friday at 1 p.m. against either seventh-seeded Notre Dame or No. 10-seeded Duke. The Fighting Irish and Blue Devils will play on Thursday at 1 p.m.
The semifinal matches will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the championship match will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
ACC college students gain free admission to the event and live coverage will be provided by ESPN3 via Watch ESPN. Visit theACC.com for more information on ticket prices.
The second-place finish is the highest for the Demon Deacons since 1981. Their 26 overall wins and 10 conference wins are both program records. Wake Forest defeated both Notre Dame and Duke in regular-season play. The Deacs blanked the Irish, 7-0, on March 13 and topped the Blue Devils, 6-1, last Saturday. Both matches were at home.
