WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest golfer Jennifer Kupcho will conclude her freshman season this week as she competes as an individual at the 2016 NCAA Women's Golf Championship. The tournament will begin on Friday at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore., with individual play concluding on Monday.
Kupcho advanced to the NCAA Championship as one of the top three individuals on non-advancing teams at the NCAA Stanford Regional. She shot 1-under par for the three rounds to finish T-6th overall
An All-ACC selection, Kupcho's 73.5 scoring average this season is the best by a Demon Deacon freshman and is tied for the third-best single-season average in program history. She has six top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments this season, including four top-5s.
Earlier this week, Kupcho qualified for this summer's U.S. Women's Open by winning the sectional qualifying tournament in her home state of Colorado.
The first three rounds of the NCAA Championship will be held Friday-Sunday with a final round on Monday for players and teams that make the cut. The final round on Monday will air live on the Golf Channel.
