Wake Forest to Play Duke in ACC Championship Tuesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – No. 10-seeded Wake Forest is set to take on No. 7-seeded Duke on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the opening round of the 2016 ACC Baseball Championship at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, the league announced Saturday night.
The winner between the Demon Deacons (32-23, 13-17 ACC) and Blue Devils (33-21, 14-15 ACC) advances into pool play from Wednesday-Saturday. Either Wake Forest or Duke will compete in Pool B, which includes second-seeded Louisville, third-seeded VIrginia and sixth-seeded Clemson.
Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its pool Wednesday through Saturday (May 25-28). The two teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to the title game on Sunday, May 29, with the winner earning the ACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Game times Wednesday through Saturday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., while Sunday's championship game will begin at noon.
Complete pairings, dates and game times for the 2016 ACC Baseball Championship will be released Sunday morning (May 21).
Wake Forest is competing in the ACC Championship for the first time since falling to Georgia Tech in the opening round in 2014.
The Deacs and Blue Devils are meeting in the ACC Championship for the first time since 2005, when Wake Forest claimed a 10-1 win in the tournament opener.
