Demon Deacons to Appear at Three Meets

The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in a trio of meets this week to conclude the regular season.
On Thursday, five Demon Deacons will travel to the Virginia Tech Hokie Twilight Qualifier in Blacksburg, Va. The Deacs will also send student-athletes to NC State's Wolfpack Last Chance Meet on Friday and the Appalachian Outdoor Open on Saturday.
The meets will be Wake Forest's final tune-up before it heads to the ACC Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. from May 13-15.
The Demon Deacons had last week off after competing at the Virginia Challenge and the Elon Invitational on April 22-23.
In an elite field in Charlottesville, Robert Heppenstall (800m) and Max Adams (discus) won event titles. Sydney White tied her school pole vault record (4.20m) at the event to earned a third-place finish. Mimi Smith (5,000m) and Kent Garrett (steeplechase) earned victories at Elon.
