WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Three more Demon Deacons were selected on the final day of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft on Saturday, bringing the total to four, most since 2014 (4).

Saturday's draftees include:
Nate Mondou (Oakland Athletics, 13th round, 382nd pick)
Parker Dunshee (Chicago Cubs, 14th round, 434th pick)
Chris Farish (Cleveland Indians, 31st round, 932nd pick)

Mondou, a junior, is a two-time first team All-ACC pick at second base and was an All-American in 2015. Through three seasons, he's hitting .308 with 197 hits, 43 doubles, 21 homers, 114 RBIs and 12 stolen bases, while also increasing his fielding percentage each season. Mondou has been a durable player for the Deacons, playing in all 115 games the last two years and making 157 career starts.

"Couldn't be happier for Nate," said head coach Tom Walter. "He is a leader, a great teammate and a fierce competitor. He has earned this opportunity by approaching every day as if it's last."

Dunshee, a junior starting pitcher, currently has a 19-9 overall record and 2.89 career ERA, the best at Wake Forest in more than 35 years. He finished 2016 with a 10-5 record and 3.20 ERA and became the first Deacon since 2003 to strike out more than 100 batters in a season (102), the eighth to do so overall.

"Dunsh carried us down the stretch and won 10 games in the nation's best conference, including two post season games. That type of season demands an opportunity and I'm thrilled he's gotten it," added Walter.

Farish, a redshirt sophomore pitcher, took a huge leap forward from his first to second season. He finished this year with a 2-1 record and 4.82 ERA. Farish struck out 35 batters in 28.0 innings, and lowered his opponent batting average from .316 a season ago to .224 this year.

"Happy for Chris. It's a great honor to be selected in the amateur draft. It speaks to Chris' tremendous potential and the great strides he has made in the past year."
