Deacs Head to Lynchburg, Fayetteville for a Pair of Weekend Meets

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field team will split up and head to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational and to Fayetteville, Ark. to take part in the Razorback Invitational this weekend.
Twenty-eight Deacs will compete in 20 events at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. Events are set to begin at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Kathryn Lazarchick, Rob Heppenstall and Simon Holden will represent Wake Forest at the Razorback Invitational. Lazarchick will compete in the women's 1 Mile Run Invitational on Saturday at 4 p.m. Holden will take part in the 800m Run at 2:15 p.m. while Heppenstall will compete in the men's 800m Invitational at 3:45 p.m. Both of those events will occur on Saturday.
Last time out, the Demon Deacons totaled 11 top-five finishes at the Wake Forest Invitational, including two event titles. Charlie Ionata won the men's weight throw for the second time this season while Alexandria Florent took the high jump title for the first time in 2017.
After this weekend, the Deacs will return to the JDL Fast Track Feb. 3-4 for the Camel City Invitational.
