Baseball America Recognizes Fairchild

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest junior Stuart Fairchild was named a second team Preseason All-American by Baseball America on Monday.
He had previously been named a second team Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball and third team honoree by Perfect Game.
Fairchild, a two-time All-ACC selection, was one of three outfielders selected to the second team, which can be viewed by clicking here.
The Seattle, Washington native has started 113 games in his two years in Winston-Salem. He's a career .319 hitter, also totaling 34 doubles, 10 homers, 88 RBIs and 26 stolen bases.
Last year, Fairchild ranked fifth in the ACC with his 20 doubles. He excelled in ACC action, hitting .342 in 30 games along with a league-high 12 doubles in conference play.
This winter, he has been rated a top-100 collegiate prospect in the 2017 MLB Draft by Baseball America, D1Baseball and Perfect Game.
Wake Forest is less than three weeks away from the 2017 season-opener, beginning with a doubleheader against Nicholls and Houston in Texas on Feb. 17.
