Deacs Continue Road Swing at Tennessee
• Wake Forest will play its fifth-straight ranked opponent in the month of February on Saturday, Feb. 25, as the Demon Deacons take on No. 34 Tennessee. First serve at Barksdale Stadium is set for 11 a.m.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons traveled to Charlottesville for the 2017 ITA National Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Virginia.
• Wake Forest, the No. 2 seed in the tournament defeated 16th-ranked Mississippi State (4-0) and 11th-ranked Texas (4-3) to advance to the semifinals.
• In the semifinals, the Demon Deacons faced No. 3 seed and third-ranked Ohio State. The match between the Deacs and Buckeyes came down to a third set tiebreaker on the No. 1 court between the top two singles players in the country, with Ohio State claiming the tiebreaker, 7-4.
• The tandem of Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri were named to the All-Tournament team as the No. 1 doubles team from the event.
Deacs In The Rankings
• Wake Forest moved down a spot to No. 3 in the nation in the latest ITA rankings release on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
• Petros Chrysochos dropped one spot and is now ranked second in the country. He is joined by Skander Mansouri, who moved up two spots to eighth, and Christian Seraphim, who slid to 34th.
• On the doubles side, Mansouri and Christian Seraphim remain No. 1 in the country.
Double Trouble
• Wake Forest's top doubles team of Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim have been nearly unbeatable this season, as the duo have posted a 20-2 record over the course of 2016-17.
• The duo posted a 13-1 record in the fall and capped the fall campaign with a doubles title at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
• This spring, Mansouri and Seraphim have posted a 7-1 record at the No. 1 doubles spot and have won seven straight matches after dropping their first doubles contest of the spring season.
Next Time Out
• Wake Forest remains on the road for its sixth and seventh consecutive game away from home, as the Deacs go on the road to take on Texas and TCU.
• The Demon Deacons will face the Longhorns for a second time this season on Saturday, March 4, before closing out the trip with a Monday, March 6 match against the Horned Frogs.
