WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Behind a game-high 25 points from John Collins, Wake Forest upset No. 8 Louisville, 88-81, Wednesday evening inside the LJVM Coliseum on Senior Night.

Collins tallied his 15th double-double of the season as he added 11 rebounds in the contest. The sophomore was 7-of-12 from the field, and 11-of-12 from the charity stripe. The 20-point performance was his 12th straight, the longest streak in the ACC this season and the longest by a Demon Deacon since Charlie Davis had an 18-game streak spanning the 1969-70 and 1970-71 seasons.

Collins was one of five players in double figures, joined by Keyshawn Woods, who matched an ACC career-high with 20 points, Bryant Crawford and Konstantinos Mitoglou with 12 each and Mitchell Wilbekin with 11.

The victory was the first over an AP top 10 team since the Demon Deacons defeated No. 4 Duke on March 5, 2014, 82-72.

Prior to Wednesday's contest, seniors Austin Arians and Trent VanHorn, along with redshirt junior Greg McClinton were honored as the Demon Deacons played their final home game inside the LJVM Coliseum. VanHorn made his first-career start in the contest while McClinton made his first start of the season Wednesday evening.

Wake Forest (17-12, 8-9), who trailed from the opening basket of the game found themselves down by as many as 14 points in the opening half before a late run pulled the Deacs within one heading into halftime. Over the final 3:12 of the first half, the Demon Deacons went on a 12-2 run to trail by one, 43-42 at the break. Wilbekin hit a pair of 3-pointers to spark the run, as Collins, Woods and Crawford added baskets in the run.

The Demon Deacons' momentum carried into the second half, as Wake Forest opened the final 20 minutes of play on a 16-4 run over the first 5:35 to build an 11-point advantage. Louisville (23-7, 11-5) trimmed the Deacs' lead to as few as three points late in the second half, but back-to-back triples by Konstantinos Mitoglou and Mitchell Wilbekin extended the lead to nine with 2:10 remaining, forcing a timeout by the Cardinals.

The eight wins in league play are the most for Wake Forest since the 2009-10 season when it went 8-7 in conference play.

The Demon Deacons wrap up the regular season on the road against Virginia Tech on Saturday, March 4. Tip is set for 4:30 p.m.
