The Matchup
• Wake Forest heads to the Queen City, taking on Charlotte at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday night. The game will be played at BB&T Ballpark, the home of the Charlotte Knights, the AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
• The Demon Deacons are playing in BB&T Ballpark for the second-straight year. Last year, Stuart Fairchild recorded a double, stolen base and four RBIs to lead Wake Forest in a 10-7 victory over App State.

Last Time Out
• Wake Forest claimed another series, taking two-of-three from ACC rival Duke over the weekend.
• Parker Dunshee (7.0 IP, 2 ER, 12 Ks) and Johnny Aiello (two homers) led the Demon Deacons to a series-opening 8-4 victory on Friday.
• Duke responded with a 7-3 win on Saturday, taking advantage of a trio of Wake Forest errors.
• The Deacs bounced back with a series-clinching win on Sunday. Jonathan Pryor and Ben Breazeale combined for five hits, while Connor Johnstone tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball to earn the victory.

• Following the season-opening trip to Houston, the Deacs were hitting just .194 as a team and had only three players hitting better than .215. In the 17 games since, Wake Forest is hitting .341 as a team, with 81 extra-base hits.
• That surge has increased the team average to .329, while Wake Forest is tied for the national lead in home runs, also ranking in the top 20 in hits, runs, doubles, walks, slugging and average. Five starters are hitting better than .340 - Ben Breazeale (.414), Jonathan Pryor (.393), Stuart Fairchild (.360), Jake Mueller (.345) and Johnny Aiello (.342).

• Wake Forest leads the all-time series against the 49ers, 41-27-1.
• The Demon Deacons and Charlotte split a home-and-home last year. The 49ers won at home on a walkoff homer, while the Deacs responded with a one-run win in Winston-Salem.
