GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest senior captain Parker Dunshee was named the ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Dunshee handed No. 2 Louisville its first home loss of the season, snapping the Cardinals' 37-game regular-season home winning streak.
Against Louisville on Friday, Dunshee struck out six while allowing just one run, scattering five hits and a walk over 7.0 innings.
He earned the victory to improve to 6-1 on the season, and 6-0 in his last seven starts. He's tied for the ACC-high with six victories, and ranks fifth with 60 strikeouts.
In ACC play, Dunshee is a perfect 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA. He has struck out 42 batters in 33.0 conference innings, while allowing foes to hit just .227 against him.
Dunshee shares the weekly honor with Clemson's Charlie Barnes, who totaled 11 strikeouts in a win over Virginia Tech, allowing one run on four hits and two walks.
With Dunshee's selection, Wake Forest has now been recognized in the weekly honors four times - twice for Connor Johnstone and once for Gavin Sheets in addition to Dunshee.
Wake Forest, ranked 20th heading into this week, takes on the defending national champion Coastal Carolina at home on Tuesday before traveling to Elon on Wednesday.
