
Deacs to Compete in Virginia Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the Virginia Challenge April 21-22. The meet will be held at the University of Virginia's Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Thirty-one Demon Deacons, including 16 on the women's side and 15 on the men's, are slated to compete in 23 events over the course of the two-day competition.
The Deacs will compete with over 50 schools including fellow ACC squads Miami, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Competition kicks off April 21st with the women's hammer throw at 11 a.m. and runs through the women's 10k at 9:20 p.m. The meet will resume Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with the women's 3,000m steeplechase and conclude with the men's 5,000m run at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The ACC Digital Network/ESPN3 will have live coverage of the event from 7-10 p.m. Friday night.
After this weekend, the Demon Deacons will compete in the Tennessee Challenge on May 6 in Knoxville, Tennessee before heading to the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship May 12-14 in Atlanta, Georgia.
