
Demon Deacons Set for ACC Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field programs are set to open the postseason with the 2017 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship held May 12-14 at Georgia Tech's George C. Griffin track and field facility.
The Demon Deacons will be represented in 12 events each on both the men's and women's side in the three-day competition.
Field events will kick off the action each day. The schedule calls for an 11 a.m. start on Friday and Saturday and a 2 p.m. open on Sunday. Preliminary events will be held Friday and Saturday with most final races being held Sunday afternoon.
ACC Network Extra will live stream action with former Olympic decathlon gold medalist Dan O'Brien serving as color analyst. He will be joined by veteran ESPN play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney. ACC Network Extra will bring live action Friday from 6 until 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m. and Sunday's finals from 5 until the meet's conclusion.
Pending the outcome of this weekend, the NCAA East Preliminary Round will be held May 23-25 in Lexington, Kentucky.
