SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Wake Forest golfer Will Zalatoris concluded his junior season Sunday with the third round of the NCAA Championship at Rich Harvest Farms. Zalatoris shot a third round 77 to finish the tournament at 1-under par.
Zalatoris just missed the cut to qualify for Monday's final round of stroke play as an individual. He shot an opening round 68 and a second round 70 before shooting 77 on Sunday to finish with a 54-hole total of 215. It was his eighth consecutive tournament that Zalatoris finished under par.
Zalatoris finished his junior season with a stroke average of 70.14, the third-lowest in program history (trailing Bill Haas' school record 68.93 in 2004 and Zalatoris' 70.07 as a freshman in 2015). The 2017 ACC Player of the Year, Zalatoris is a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award as the nation's top player.
