GREENSBORO, N.C. - Jen Esposito and Elijah Shalaway have been named ACC Performers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Esposito was named the ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week and Shalaway was named the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week.

A graduate student from Mansfield, Massachusetts, Jen Esposito claimed her fourth 400m hurdles event title of the season at the Tennessee Challenge on Saturday, May 6. Esposito's time of 59.73 was the only sub-minute time and she won the event by nearly three seconds. Esposito continues to rank third in the conference and 36th nationally in the event.

Elijah Shalaway, a freshman from Barto, Pennsylvania, won the men's javelin at the Tennessee Challenge with a personal-best mark of 59.51m (195-3). Shalaway's best throw was 26 feet further than the second-place mark and currently sits sixth in the conference.

Three members of the track and field team have now earned weekly conference honors this season, as Robert Heppenstall earned honors April 18th after running the fastest 1,500m time in the conference at the time. The three weekly awards mark the most in a single season since 2001-02 when three awards were also earned.

The Demon Deacons now turn their attention to the 2017 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held May 12-14 in Atlanta, Georgia.
