Botzer Punches Ticket to ITA Carolina Regional Championship Match

Second-seeded Bar Botzer will face top seed Paul Jubb for the championship

CARY, N.C. – Rising sophomore Bar Botzer advanced to the finals of the ITA Carolina Regional Championships Monday (Oct. 15) with a three set victory in the semifinals.
By virtue of advancing to the finals, Botzer earns an automatic berth to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, held November 7-11 in Surprise, Arizona.
Botzer, ranked 91st in the country and seeded second in the tournament, faced No. 13 seed Luca Keist of Charlotte in the semifinal round. The Tel Aviv, Israel native stormed out of the gate in the opening set, cruising to a 6-2 victory. After Keist battled back to take the second set, 6-4, Botzer regained his first-set momentum, claiming a 6-1 victory in the third and final set.
In the championships, Botzer will face Paul Jubb of South Carolina, the No. 1 seed in the tournament and the 27th-ranked player nationally. First serve on Tuesday is set for 9 a.m.
