Deacs Travel to Boston for ACC Cross Country Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –
The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams begin postseason competition Friday with the 2018 ACC Championship. The meet will be held at the Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., for the second time, having also hosted the 2010 meet.

The women's race will start at 10 a.m., with the men's race following at 11 a.m. Both races will be broadcast online on ACC Network Extra.  

In the 6K women's race, the Demon Deacons will run a squad of Samantha Halvorsen, Mimi Smith, Elise Wright, Anna Campbell, Georgia Evans, Johanna Schulz, Hannah Brookover and Kaitlin Derry. In the 8K men's race, Wake Forest will be represented by Zach Facioni, Mitchell Day, Daniel Viegra, Joaquin Martinez de Pinillos, Craig Corti, Jack Tiernan and Myers McKinney.   
Wake Forest has won four men's ACC titles, taking the crown in 1989, 1990, 1993 and 1994. The Demon Deacon women shared the 2002 ACC Championship.
