The Matchup
• The top-ranked Demon Deacons close out the regular season at home against No. 17 Louisville on Friday at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
• Wake Forest will honor its senior class prior to the game: Tre Bailey, Brad Dunwell, Logan Gdula and Sam Raben. Heading into the game, it is the third-winningest senior class in program history with 70 wins, trailing only the 2009 (78 wins) and 2008 classes (74 wins).
• Friday nights at Spry Stadium are presented by Alarm South. Alarm South is the official security partner of Wake Forest Athletics.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest locked up its fourth-consecutive ACC Atlantic Division crown with a thrilling 3-2 victory at No. 6 Virginia on Oct. 20.
• The Deacs took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on a Machop Chol goal and maintained that lead for the next 50 minutes before Virginia rallied with back-to-back scores to pull ahead, 2-1.
• Wake Forest responded with back-to-back goals to retake the lead and earn the victory. Logan Gdula tied it with his first goal of the season in the 77th minute, followed by Justin McMaster claiming a loose ball and putting away his own rebound in the 78th minute.
• Dominic Peters made three saves to earn the victory in his first-career start in goal.
Quick Kicks
• Wake Forest was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and moved up to No. 1 in the first weekly poll. The Deacs have been ranked in the top five in 30 consecutive polls dating back to the middle of the 2016 season - 22 more weeks than any other program (Indiana/North Carolina - 8).
• The Deacs are once again one of the top teams in the country. Wake Forest has the second-highest winning percentage in the nation (Saint Mary's), and is first nationally with 45 goals.
• Wake Forest has a lot of new faces after sending seven into the MLS ranks following the 2017 season. Still, the Deacs brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, headlined by top-50 recruits Isaiah Parente, Kyle Holcomb, Koby Carr and Aristotle Zarris.
• Since the start of the Bobby Muuss era in 2015, Wake Forest has a 70-9-7 overall record. That win total is the most of any Division I program.
Opponent & Series History
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series over Louisville, 7-2-0, including a 5-1 advantage in Winston-Salem. The Deacs have won six straight meetings, though four of the last seven games have gone into overtime.
• Louisville enters with an 8-3-3 overall record, including a 4-1-2 mark in league action. The Cardinals are coming off a double-overtime, 1-0 win over Clemson on Saturday.
• Tate Schmitt has led the Cardinals with 25 goals and 15 assists in his four-year career, including four goals and six assists this year, leading the team in both categories.
• Jake Gelnovatch (6-1-3, 0.93 GAA, .697 save pct) and Will Meyer (2-2-0, 1.50 GAA, .500 save pct) have split time in goal.

• The Demon Deacons have a bye in the first round of the ACC Tournament, and will play in the ACC Quarterfinals at home on Nov. 4.
