Women’s Tennis Defeats Ohio State and IUPUI at Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, TENN- The Wake Forest women's tennis team went 7-1 overall at day two of the Tennessee Invitational. The Deacons defeated Ohio State in doubles and swept IUPUI in singles.
On the doubles courts, Wake Forest picked up the first two wins to clinch the match, before Ohio State answered back with a point of their own. Anna Brylin and Anna Ulyashchenko took down Shiori Fukuda and Luna Dormet 6-0. Freshmen duo of Saby Nihalani and Peyton Pesavento earned the second point on the doubles court with a 6-4 victory over Mary Beth Hurley and Andrea Ballinger.
In singles action, the Deacons posted a clean sweep over the Jags. Ulyashchenko was the first to finish, beating Gabrielle Ochalik, 6-2, 6-0 on court two. Mary Meredith and Brylin followed with a 6-2, 6-1 wins on courts four and three to give the Deacons a 3-0 advantage.
Pesavento finished fourth, defeating Sarah Lounsbury 6-2, 6-2 on court one and Nihalani sealed to 5-0 victory for Wake Forest taking down Samantha Hayward 6-3, 6-0 on court six.
