Four Deacons Named to the All-ACC Field Hockey Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Wake Forest field hockey placed four student-athletes on the All-ACC Teams, the league office announced Wednesday. Jule Grashoff garnered first team honors, while Megan Anderson, Veerle Bos and Anne van Hoof were named second team. Undefeated and top-ranked North Carolina swept the individual awards and placed six players on the All-ACC Teams.
Grashoff, a senior out of Bremen Germany, earns First Team honors for the second consecutive season. She leads the conference in goals (18), shots (74) and points (39). This season, Grashoff has recorded three hat tricks including a career-high four goals against Appalachian State and Davidson. With 63 career goals, she ranks third all-time in the Wake Forest record books and fourth all-time with 158 career points. She was also named to the 2018 Preseason All-ACC Team.
Senior captain Megan Anderson was named Second Team All-ACC. She currently leads the nation in assists per game with 1.35 on 23 total assists. Anderson notched a career-high four assists in the Deac's win over Davidson, while 55 career assists rank her second in Wake Forest history. Anderson has started in all 75 games for the Deacons since her freshman season.
Leiden, Netherlands native, Veerle Bos was selected as a team captain for her senior campaign. Leading into post-season play, Bos has tallied 10 assists and two goals for the Deacs. She has started in all 17 games this season and has anchored the back line of defense.
Anne van Hoof rounds out the All-ACC Team for the Deacons. The sophomore has posted seven goals and three assists during the season for 17 points, third behind Grashoff and Anderson. She notched a career-high two goals and four points in wake's win over William and Mary. Van Hoof also added two defensive saves against North Carolina.
Wake Forest will face third-seeded and 12th-ranked Louisville in the quarterfinals of the ACC Championship on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m.
