Eight Demon Deacons compete at home tournament

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Eight members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team took to the team's home courts for the annual Wake Forest Invitational.
Melios Efstathiou made a run to the semifinals of the A1 singles draw, defeating South Carolina's Patrick Cacciatore, 6-4, 6-0, and Indiana's Zac Brodney, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. His main draw run came to an end in the semifinals against Duke's Nick Stachowiak, 6-2, 6-2.
Yuval Solomon and Julian Zlobinsky each advanced to the quarterfinals in the A2 draw before each dropped matches to opponents from South Carolina and North Carolina, respectively.
Sean Patrick won a pair of matches in the D1 bracket, defeating Virginia's Ethan Moszkowski, 6-3, 6-4 in the opening round. He was then up 1-0 on Richmond's Josh Keitelman in the opening set when Keitelman was forced to retire due to injury.
Efstathiou and Julian Zlobinsky are still alive in the A4 doubles draw defeating opponents from Davidson (7-6) and Mercer, 6-3.
Competition will conclude on Sunday.
