The Matchup
• The Wake Forest women's basketball team turns the calendar to December and welcomes St. John's to Winston-Salem on Sunday, December 2.
• Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. Brian Rushing, Adrianne Bradshaw and Hailey Brooke McFadden will have the call of Sunday's game.

Last Time Out
• The Deacs fell to 3-4 on the year following a 87-73 defeat to Indiana in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on November 28.
• Elisa Penna had her second 20-point performance of the season, scoring a team-high 22 points while Gina Conti added a season-high 18 points.
• Ivana Raca had her sixth double-figure game with 17 points and Ona Udoh nearly had a double-double with 11 rebounds and seven points.

Wake Forest Storylines
• Senior Elisa Penna leads the Demon Deacons into the 2018-19 season, having been named to the preseason All-ACC team. Additionally, Penna was named to the Cheryl Miller Award watch list, presented to the top small forward in the country.
• Senior Ariel Stephenson will miss the entire season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. She became the third Deacon to miss the upcoming season, as Kortni Simmons and Destini Walker were both medically disqualified this summer.
• The team welcomes five newcomers to the roster in freshmen Kaylen Dickson, Ellen Hahne, McKenna Frank, Lindsey Jarosinski and Christina Morra.

Opponent & Series History
• St. John's is 5-1 on the season, with its lone loss being a 10-point decision to No. 2 UConn.
• This is just the third meeting between the two programs, with the series tied 1-all.
• Kadaja Bailey was named the 2018 BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year. 
• Joe Tartamella is in his seventh season at the helm of the Red Storm, owning a 129-72 career coaching record, all coming from St. John's.
