The Matchup
• The Wake Forest women's basketball opens the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, November 6 at home against Towson.
• Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside the LJVM Coliseum. Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra with Ty Collins on the call.
• Tuesday's game will be the first of a three-game homestand to open the season for Wake Forest. The Deacs will play three games in six days.
Last Time Out
• The Deacs ended the 2017-18 season with a 68-60 loss to sixth-seeded Miami in the second round of the ACC Tournament. The loss came following a 72-38 victory over Pittsburgh in the opening round.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Senior Elisa Penna leads the Demon Deacons into the 2018-19 season, having been named to the preseason All-ACC team. Additionally, Penna was named to the Cheryl Miller Award watch list, presented to the top small forward in the country.
• Senior Ariel Stephenson will miss the entire season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. She became the third Deacon to miss the upcoming season, as Kortni Simmons and Destini Walker were both medically disqualified this summer.
• The team welcomes five newcomers to the roster in freshmen Kaylen Dickson, Ellen Hahne, McKenna Frank, Lindsey Jarosinski and Christina Morra.
Opponent & Series History
• Tuesday will be the fourth all-time meeting between the Deacs and Towson, with Wake Forest leading the all-time series, 2-1.
• The teams last met in the 2014-15 season, with Wake Forest claiming a 74-64 victory inside the LJVM Coliseum.
• Towson is led by second-year head coach Diane Richardson. A young team which features no seniors on its roster, Towson will be paced by Nukiya Mayo. Mayo averaged 13 points and nine rebounds per game a year ago.
