Last Time Out
• Wake Forest opened postseason play with an ACC Quarterfinal shutout win over NC State, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.
• Andreu Cases Mundet matched his season-high with five saves as he recorded his fifth shutout of the campaign.
• Omir Fernandez netted his fourth game-winning goal of the season in the 13th minute, scoring off a cross from Machop Chol.
• Chol added a goal of his own in the 20th minute to double the Demon Deacon lead. Bruno Lapa took a free kick from 20 yards, and Joey DeZart headed it into the box to Chol for the one-timer.
Quick Kicks
• The Deacs are 7-1-1 in the ACC Championship under head coach Bobby Muuss, including back-to-back tournament titles in 2016 and 2017.
• Wake Forest was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and moved up to No. 1 in the first weekly poll. The Deacs have been ranked in the top five in 32 consecutive polls dating back to the middle of the 2016 season - 22 more weeks than any other program (Indiana/North Carolina - 10).
• The Deacs are once again one of the top teams in the country. Wake Forest has the second-highest winning percentage in the nation (Saint Mary's), and is first nationally with 49 goals.
• Wake Forest has a lot of new faces after sending seven into the MLS ranks following the 2017 season. Still, the Deacs brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, headlined by top-50 recruits Isaiah Parente, Kyle Holcomb, Koby Carr and Aristotle Zarris.
• Since the start of the Bobby Muuss era in 2015, Wake Forest has a 72-9-7 overall record. That win total is the most of any Division I program.
Opponent & Series History
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series against Louisville, 8-2-0, including a 6-1 advantage in Winston-Salem. The Deacs have won six straight meetings, though five of the last eight have gone to overtime, including a 2-1 victory on Oct. 26. In that game, Wake Forest bounced back from a 1-0 halftime deficit with an Aristotle Zarris equalizer in the 62nd minute and Bruno Lapa game-winner in the 97th minute.
• Louisville enters with a 9-4-3 overall record. The Cardinals defeated Notre Dame, 1-0, in the Quarterfinals behind an 86th-minute goal from Tate Schmitt. Schmitt leads Louisville in goals (five), assists (six) and points (16).
• Jake Gelnovatch has been Louisville's primary keeper, recording a 0.93 GAA and .700 save percentage in 12 starts.
