• Wake Forest looks to rebound after back-to-back losses, traveling to Santa Clara for a three-game series from Feb. 23-25.
Last Time Out
• Davidson didn't allow a baserunner until the fifth and took a no-hitter into the eighth, defeating Wake Forest by a 3-1 margin.
• Wake Forest relief pitchers struck out 10 Wildcats in 7.0 innings, led by three apiece from Tyler Witt and Morgan McSweeney.
• Shane Muntz broke up the no-hitter with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. He also tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief on the mound.

• The Demon Deacons have already started five different freshmen position players, while four other rookies have seen time on the mound.

• Wake Forest is led by consensus preseason All-American Johnny Aiello and returning draftee Griffin Roberts, both juniors. Aiello blasted 20 homers - fourth-most in program history - while Roberts had a 2.19 ERA, eight saves and broke the program record in strikeouts per nine innings as the closer last year.
• The Deacs are coming off their second Super Regional appearance, finishing a game away from the College World Series. Wake Forest finished the year with a 43-20 record and set program records in ACC wins (19), ACC series wins (eight), All-ACC honorees (nine), MLB Draft picks (eight) and home runs (106).

• Santa Clara is in the first year of the Rusty Filter era after recording a 13-40 overall record in 2017.
• The Broncos are off to a 2-2 start to 2018, including a series loss to ACC foe Boston College and a midweek win over San Jose State. Jake Brodt has led Santa Clara offensively, recording a .353 average with three home runs and 11 RBIs, including two grand slams in one inning of a win over Boston College.
