WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams have been named All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To be eligible for the honor, teams must record a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and start five runners at its NCAA Regional Championship. This year, 423 teams qualified, including 228 women's programs and 195 men's programs.

The women posted a 3.23 team GPA with Mimi Smith, Hannah Brookover and Eliza Lukens-Day earning All-ACC Academic team honors. The men recorded a 3.17 team cumulative GPA with Mitchell Day earning All-ACC academic honors earlier this month.

At the NCAA Southeast Regional in November, the women finished sixth overall and the men finished 11th.
