ORLANDO, Fla. – Wake Forest golfers Jennifer Kupcho and Emilia Migliaccio were named to the United States team for the 2018 Palmer Cup. The event, named after Demon Deacon legend Arnold Palmer, is a Ryder Cup style competition that annually matches the best collegiate golfers from the United States against the best from Europe.
The tournament, which has been held annually since 1997, is expanding in 2018 to include women's golfers after being a strictly men's event during its first 21 editions. This year's tournament will be held July 6-8 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
Wake Forest has had three men's golfers compete in previous Palmer Cups, with Bill Haas representing the United States in 2002 and 2003, Webb Simpson in 2007 and Will Zalatoris in 2016.
The Demon Deacons will return to action Sunday with the start of the Evans Derby Experience in Auburn, Ala.
