Deacs Open Play at Evans Derby Experience

AUBURN, Ala. – The Wake Forest women's golf team opened play at the Evans Derby Experience Sunday with the opening round at the Auburn University Club. The Demon Deacons shot 5-over during the first round and are in eighth place after 18 holes of play.
"We had balanced scoring today but did not make as many putts as we wanted," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "We were in position to go low but had difficulty converting the birdies. We learned a lot about the course today and will put that to work tomorrow."
The Demon Deacons were led during the round by Emilia Migliaccio, who shot an even par 72. Jennifer Kupcho posted a 1-over 73, while Mai Dechathipat and Antonia Eberhard each had a 2-over 74. Siyun Liu completed the lineup with a 4-over 76.
The tournament will continue Monday and conclude Tuesday at the Auburn University Club.
