Deacs Return Home For Weekend Pair of Matches
• The No. 1 Wake Forest men's tennis team returns home for a pair of ranked matches, playing host to No. 10 Florida on Friday (March 30) and No. 25 Notre Dame on Sunday (April 1) at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
• First serve against the Gators is set for 3 p.m. while the Deacs will face the Fighting Irish at noon on Sunday.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons rebounded from their first defeat of the season with a 4-3 road win over No. 5 North Carolina on Wednesday, March 28.
• With the match tied at 3-all, freshman Bar Botzer rallied from a set down at the No. 3 singles position to claim the 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory, sending the Deacs past the Tar Heels.
• Junior Petros Chrysochos won his 10th consecutive match with a 7-5, 6-3, decision.
Deacs In The Rankings
• The Demon Deacons, after being ranked No. 1 to begin a season for the first time in program history, remain the top team in the weekly ITA rankings. They have been the No. 1 team in the USTA rankings for the last six weeks as well.
• Individually, five singles players and three doubles teams are ranked in the latest ITA rankings. The singles rankings are highlighted by Petros Chrysochos (No. 7) and Borna Gojo (No. 29), while the Chrysochos and Skander Mansouri team up to form the No. 2 doubles team in the country.
Scouting the Opponents
• No. 10 Florida heads to Winston-Salem with a 13-5 record and an 8-1 mark in SEC play. The Gators feature four players ranked in the singles rankings, including two in the top-11, and five different ranked doubles pairings.
• The 25th-ranked Fighting Irish are 12-9 on the year and 3-2 in ACC play with wins over Boston College, Louisville and Virginia Tech and defeats to Virginia and North Carolina.
• Notre Dame features one ranked singles player and one ranked doubles team.
Next Time Out
• The Deacs remain at home for a pair of ACC matches on April 6 and 8, playing host to Clemson and Georgia Tech.
