GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest junior golfer Cameron Young was named to the 2018 All-ACC Men's Golf Team, announced Thursday (May 10) by the conference. The Scarborough, N.Y., native was one of 15 players to earn the honor.
Young leads the Demon Deacons with a 69.75 stroke average this season. He is on pace to be just the second Wake Forest player to have a season average under 70, joining Bill Haas, who posted a school-record 68.93 stroke average in 2003-04. In eight tournaments this season, Young has four top-5 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at last month's Stitch Intercollegiate.
The honor is the second of Young's career, as he also earned All-ACC honors last year.
The Demon Deacons will return to action with the NCAA Columbus Regional, May 14-16 at the Ohio State Scarlet Course. They will look for a top-five finish at the event to qualify for the NCAA Championship, held May 23-28 in Stillwater, Okla.
