TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Wake Forest women's golf team continued play Tuesday at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional with the second round of play at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course. Jennifer Kupcho set a single-round school record with an 8-under 64 and is the tournament's 36-hole individual leader.

The Demon Deacons shot a 1-over round on Tuesday and are in seventh place at 2-under after 36 holes. The top six teams from the 18-team field will advance to the NCAA Championships, held later this month in Stillwater, Okla. Wake Forest is three shots out of the sixth and final qualifying place, currently held by Arizona at 5-under.

Alabama is the second-round leader at 18-under, Washington is second at 14-under and Florida State and Furman are tied for third place at 13-under. Clemson (12-under) is in fifth place, just ahead of Arizona and Wake Forest.

Kupcho made eight birdies during her bogey-free round of 64, breaking the record for the lowest single round in Wake Forest history. The previous record of 65 was set by Michelle Shin at the 2010 Mason Rudolph Championship and matched by Kupcho earlier this year at the Evans Derby Experience.

"Jennifer played like the champ she is today, shooting a bogey-free, school-record 64," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "She was flawless and it was exciting to watch her play with so much confidence. She carried our team today and kept us in contention for a spot in the finals. We are due for a great team round and are capable of going low. If we play steady golf and take advantage of our good shots, we can advance."

Emilia Migliaccio shot a 1-under round of 71 to finish the day at 1-under for the tournament. Siyun Liu shot a second-round 74 and is at even par for the tournament. Mai Dechathipat and Monica Schumacher each shot a second-round 80 to round out the Demon Deacon lineup.

The NCAA Tallahassee Regional concludes Wednesday at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
