Kupcho Ready for 2018 Curtis Cup

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Wake Forest rising senior Jennifer Kupcho will compete for the United States this weekend at the 2018 Curtis Cup. The biannual team competition between the top women's amateur players from the United States and the top women's amateur players from Great Britain & Ireland will be contested Friday-Sunday at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, N.Y.
Kupcho is one of eight members of the American team that is looking to win the Curtis Cup for the 29th time in the event's 40th competition. She is making her Curtis Cup debut at this year's event and will become the fifth Demon Deacon to compete in the Curtis Cup. Karen Noble (1990), Brenda Corrie (1996 and 1998) and Sierra Brooks (2016) previously represented the United States, while Helen Wadsworth (1990) represented Great Britain & Ireland.
Kupcho is ranked No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The 2018 Honda Award winner for golf, she capped the best season in Wake Forest history with her victory at the NCAA Championship. Her junior season featured four victories and two other top-5 finishes as she finished under par in a school-record eight events. Her scoring average of 70.60 set a school record, breaking the previous mark of 70.61 that she set during her sophomore season. Kupcho tied her own school 54-hole scoring record with a 15-under performance to win the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, which included a school-record 8-under 64 in the second round.
FS1 will provide live coverage of the Curtis Cup throughout the event. The network will televise Friday's four-ball (11:30 am-2:30 pm), Friday's foursomes (5-8 pm), Saturday's four-ball (11:30 am-2:30 pm), Saturday's foursomes (5-8 pm) and Sunday's singles (1-6 pm).
