EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France– The Wake Forest women's golf team will have a pair of players competing this weekend for the United States at the 2018 Palmer Cup. Rising senior Jennifer Kupcho and rising sophomore Emilia Migliaccio will compete Friday-Sunday at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
The event, named after Demon Deacon legend Arnold Palmer, is a Ryder Cup style competition that annually matches the best collegiate golfers from the United States against the best from Europe. The Palmer Cup, which has been held annually since 1997, expanded this year to include women's golfers after being a strictly men's event during its first 21 editions. This year's tournament will be held July 6-8 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
Wake Forest has had three men's golfers compete in previous Palmer Cups, with Bill Haas representing the United States in 2002 and 2003, Webb Simpson in 2007 and Will Zalatoris in 2016.
The schedule for the event will consist of mixed fourball matches on Friday, mixed foursome and fourball matches on Saturday and singles matches on Sunday.
