Three Deacs Competing at Wyndham Championship

Haas, Simpson and Zalatoris in action in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three Wake Forest golf alumni will be in action this week at the 2018 Wyndham Championship, held August 16-19 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro. Bill Haas, Webb Simpson and Will Zalatoris are in this year's field of the PGA Tour event.
Simpson (Class of 2008) is one of eight former Wyndham Championship winners in this year's field, having captured the title in 2008. He is currently 12th in the FedExCup Stadings and just qualified for the United States Ryder Cup Team. Last year, Simpson finished third at the Wyndham Championship.
Haas (Class of 2004) has three top-10 finishes at the Wyndham Championship. Zalatoris (Class of 2018) is making his debut appearance at the Wyndham Championship after turning pro in December.
The Demon Deacons have a rich history at the PGA Tour's Greensboro event. In addition to Simpson winning the 2011 Wyndham Championship, Scott Hoch won the 2001 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic and Lanny Wadkins won the 1983 Greater Greensboro Open.
