The Matchup
• Wake Forest continues its four-game homestand against Michigan on Thursday, Aug. 30. The game is set for 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
• The match is the first of two against Big Ten teams this week, as the Deacs face Penn State on Sunday.
Promotions
• Thursday's match is a Camper/Clinic Reunion Night. All former campers can wear their camp t-shirts and receive free admission.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons defeated College of Charleston, 3-2, in double overtime thanks to Peyton Perea's golden goal in the 101st minute.
• Gi DeMarco recorded her first collegiate goal and assist while Estelle Laurier netted a goal for the Deacs as well.
Quick Kicks
• The Demon Deacons return 18 players from the 2017 roster this season, including four of their top-five scorers from a year ago in Bayley Feist, Hannah Betfort, Estelle Laurier and Sofia Rossi.
• The Deacs welcome nine freshmen and grad transfer Mariah Lee to the squad in 2018.
• Wake Forest has one of the toughest schedules in the nation this season. The team will face 10 teams that debuted in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 list as well as 13 squads that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, including two College Cup teams in South Carolina and Duke.
Scouting the Wolverines
• Jennifer Klein is in her first season at the helm of the Wolverines, coming to Michigan after spending the last four seasons at USC.
• Michigan returns eight starters from 2017 this season, including senior Reilly Martin. Martin was the team's leading scorer in 2017 with six goals and has 16 total in her career.
• Michigan is coming off of a 3-1 loss to Louisville after defeating Marquette, 3-2.
Series History
• Wake Forest is 1-0-1 all time with the Wolverines, including 1-0-0 at Spry Stadium.
• The teams met last season in Ann Arbor, a 0-0 draw, on Sept. 10, 2017. Prior to that, the teams last met in the second round of the 1999 NCAA Tournament on Nov. 13 with Wake Forest advancing in a 1-0 victory.
