The Matchup
• Wake Forest wraps up its four-game homestand against No. 5 Penn State on Sunday, Sept. 2. The game is set for 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
• Sunday is the first Senior Night of the season. The team will be honoring Bayley Feist for her accomplishments and commitment to Wake Forest women's soccer.
Last Time Out
• The offense exploded in a 4-0 victory over Big Ten-foe Michigan on Aug. 30. The victory over the Wolverines was the largest winning margin over a Big Ten team in program history.
• Estelle Laurier recorded four points (1G, 2A) and Ryanne Brown scored her first-career goal while Hulda Arnarsdottir and Abby McNamara netted the ball as well.
Quick Kicks
• The Demon Deacons return 18 players from the 2017 roster this season, including four of their top-five scorers from a year ago in Bayley Feist, Hannah Betfort, Estelle Laurier and Sofia Rossi.
• The Deacs welcome nine freshmen and grad transfer Mariah Lee to the squad in 2018.
• Wake Forest has one of the toughest schedules in the nation this season. The team will face 10 teams that debuted in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 list as well as 13 squads that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, including two College Cup teams in South Carolina and Duke.
Scouting the Nittany Lions
• Penn State is coming off a 3-0 victory at James Madison after falling to No. 2 UCLA, 2-1 the week before.
• Emily Ogle, who was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for the second time, leads the Nittany Lions' offense with three goals this season.
• Amanda Dennis has played over 300 minutes in goal this year, earning a 0.867 save percentage with 13 saves.
Series History
• Wake Forest is 3-1-0 all-time against Penn State, including a 2-0-0 record at Spry Stadium.
• A season ago, the No. 24-ranked Deacs fell to No. 10 Penn State, 2-0, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Morgantown, West Virginia.
• This will be only the second meeting between the two programs in the regular season.
