THE MATCH UP
• Wake Forest opens conference play on the road facing Miami on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. and Florida State on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
• Both matches will be streamed on ACCNE.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Deacons went 2-1 at the Mountaineer Classic hosted by West Virginia.
• Over the weekend, sophomore Myca Mitchell collected a career-high 18 kills in Wake Forest's win over Penn. She leads the Deacons with 110 total kills.
• Mitchell and Caroline Rassenfoss were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Mountaineer Classic.
QUICK HITS
• Head Coach Bill Ferguson returns for his third season at the helm of the program.
• The Demon Deacons return 14 players from last year's squad, led by seniors Hailey Brooke McFadden and Katie Moore, and welcome five freshmen to the club.
• Junior Caroline Rassenfoss is the team's returning kill leader as she tallied 271 kills last season.
• 2018 will mark the first season for Wake Forest Volleyball in the newly renovated Reynolds Gymnasium. Reynolds has been home for the Deacons since 1971. The team spent the previous two seasons in the LJVM Coliseum while the renovations were underway.
• After an 0-6 start to the season, Wake Forest has won five of its last six matches.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
• Miami opens conference play with a 4-3 overall record and on a two match win streak after sweeping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Southern.
• The Canes matches last weekend against LIU Brooklyn were canceled.
• Chloe Brown leads the Canes with 76 kills in 23 sets played (3.30 k/s).
• Defensively, Emily Damon has tallied a team-high 85 digs, while Bridget Wallenberger has posted 30 total blocks- 10 solo and 20 assisted.
SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES
• Florida State is coming off two SEC losses against Florida and Auburn.
• Junior Peyton Caffrey leads the Noles with 157 kills, which ranks first in the ACC.
• Defensively, Taryn Knuth has posted an ACC-high 56 blocks with 10 solo stops and 46 assisted blocks.
LOOKING AHEAD
•The Deacs will continue ACC play as they host Syracuse and Boston College on Sept. 28 and 30, respectively. Friday's match is set for 6:30 p.m. and first serve on Sunday will be at 1 p.m.
