FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Wake Forest women's golf team finished third at the Mason Rudolph Challenge as Sunday's play was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Demon Deacons had climbed to second place midway through the third round when play was halted Saturday, but since the round could not be completed, the scores reverted to the end of the second round.
Wake Forest finished the tournament at 3-under, two shots behind runner-up Arizona State. Host Vanderbilt won the tournament at 17-under.
Siyun Liu and Emilia Migliaccio tied for runner-up honors, each posting 9-under par. Jennifer Kupcho was T-9th at 2-under.
"We were disappointed that we didn't get to finish our round today when we were making a final round charge," said head coach Kim Lewellen. "Nevertheless, it was a good finish for the team. I am very proud of Swing and Emilia tying for second place honors and Jennifer finishing ninth. It was Swing's best finish at Wake Forest, so it is a great milestone for her."
The Demon Deacons return to action Oct. 12-14 with the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill.
